    The stunning concert and entertainments venue in Newcastle opened in 2004 and is famous for hosting a wide range of acts including Blondie, George Clinton, Mumford and Sons, Morrissey, Westlife and Nancy Sinatra.

    The Sage is known to The Guardian as ‘no better chamber orchestra in Britain’. In 2005, it won an award for British Construction Industry Awards and the RIBA Award for Inclusive Design. The venue has many seasonal events on all year round, including Classical Season, Gateshead Jazz, Brass in Concert, Newcastle International Chamber Music Series, Silver Programme Music Festival, TUSK Festival and many family events that are creative and engaging. There is also a wide range of workshops available like Make Music classes and workshops, classes for children, young people and schools.

    The box office in the Sage Gateshead is open 12pm to 6pm and the venue itself is open from 9am every day of the week. While you’re here you can grab a bite to eat at The Sir Michael Straker Café, The Brasserie, or have a look in the Sage Shop. There are special dining experiences that range from the classic afternoon tea to themed musical dining, and 5 bars that are all positioned ideally, giving perfect views of the Tyne and offer an extensive range of drinks like craft beers, real ales and artisan gin.
