    The University of Newcastle upon Tyne is known as the global leader in ageing and health, creative arts, energy, cities and data. It had taken the place of 141st in the QS World Ranking of Universities in 2018.

    The university currently offers approximately 175 full-time programmes for undergraduates. Subject areas vary from arts, medicine, science, engineering and much more. The current enrolment of the university is over 20,000 students. A series of public lectures are held in the Curtis Auditorium, where anyone can listen in on the university’s insights on a variety of topics.

    Newcastle University has several museums and galleries operating on its university grounds. The Hatton Gallery is part of the Great North Museum project, which showcases the natural history and ancient civilisations. It also operates many research institutes, such as in sustainability, cancer research, genetic medicine and neuroscience just to name a few, that are developing solutions to the most pressing worldwide issues that are facing us today.
