Where To Get Takeaway Afternoon Tea in Dublin

Afternoon Tea is the perfect treat. Cakes, sandwiches, champagne…what more do you want? But for those purveyors of great taste, the series of lockdowns we faced during the COVID pandemic hindered Afternoon Tea plans. The good news is that many establishments either started doing takeaway or delivery afternoon tea or were already offering it.

So if you’re looking for a bit of refinement, that ambience that only Afternoon Tea can bring but don’t want to leave the comforts of your own home, then we’ve got you covered. Perfect for all occasions, our list will provide you with many options to choose from.

The Cake Café

Located near the Iveagh Gardens, the Cake Café is ideally placed to service those in the city centre. Takeaway afternoon tea is available for €54.90 per 2 people sharing though add-ons are available such as salad, prosecco, and more. Their standard offering includes a selection of mini sandwiches on homemade bread, freshly baked cakes and scones with homemade jam and cream, prosecco cocktails for two and a selection of artisan teas.

Takeaway afternoon tea can be ordered through their website and is available in Dublin only. If there is no delivery to your location then you can contact them at 01 4789394 or info@thecakecafe.ie to check if delivery is possible.

Old Music Shop

The Old Music Shop Restaurant offers a superb option for takeaway afternoon tea with plenty of variety on offer. They have a fantastic range of Classic and Vegetarian options to suit your tastes and a mouth-watering line-up of sweet treats. They also have a great selection of teas with the option to include prosecco for an additional fee.

Possibly the best thing about this afternoon tea is the potential to make it a family affair as the Old Music Shop also offers a Children’s Afternoon Tea Box which is kept simple and filled with food every kid will love. Do note though that the children’s afternoon tea is only an add-on to the main afternoon tea and cannot be ordered by itself.

Afternoon tea costs €25 per person with a minimum order for 2 people.

Fitzers Catering

Fitzers Catering offers a delivery only Afternoon Tea but that delivery does extend nationwide. Their afternoon tea includes a delicious selection of sandwiches, gorgeous scones and cakes and a tea selection. There are also a number of upgrades available including prosecco, champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries.

Afternoon tea costs €40 per person or €70 per 2 people.

Baked Patisserie and Café

Everyone knows the delicious artisan bakery that is Baked, with their four stores in Dundrum, Citywest, Rathmines and Greenhills. It is impossible to walk by their windows without your stomach yearning for one of their sweet treats. And luckily, you can sample them as part of your own takeaway afternoon tea. Offering up tastes of heaven such as red velvet cake, Black Forest gateau and malteser mousse, this indulgent afternoon tea won’t disappoint.

Afternoon Tea costs €29.90 and add-ons are available for an additional cost such as Oreo Cheesecake and cookies.

Vintage Tea Trips

The vintage tea trip experience is pretty unique and incredible as you get to enjoy a delicious afternoon tea while taking a trip around Dublin in a vintage bus listening to 1950’s jazz. But given the interruption to services with the pandemic, the Vintage Tea Trips started doing home deliveries (sadly not in the vintage bus though!) The afternoon tea consists of a mixture of savoury and sweet treats.

Prices start at €25 per person for 2 – 3 people sharing and then it drops down to €22 per person for 4 or more people sharing. You can also upgrade to the VIP Afternoon Tea which includes 2 branded Keep Cups and a bottle of prosecco for €16.
