This accessibility guide provides practical information about accessibility features at our hotel to support guests with physical, sensory, or other access needs when planning their stay.

When choosing to travel to Maldron Hotel Tallaght, there are multiple ways in which you can reach us such as by car, bus Luas, and taxi. 

Car: Maldron Hotel Tallaght can be easily reached by road. We are located just off the N81 at Whitestown way and Junction 11 of the M50 (Tallaght Bound). 

We are located 30 minutes from Dublin Airport. You can reach us by joining the M1 at Junction 2 and then Joining the M50 at Junction 3 Southbound. At M50 Junction 11 you take the 3rd exit towards Tallaght onto the N81 and travel towards the junction at Whitestown way and turn left in which the hotel will be situated on the right.

We are also located 30 minutes from Dublin City Centre. You can reach us from O’Connell Street by driving north and turning right onto Parnell Street. Drive along Parnell Street and turn right onto Ryder’s Row which leads onto Capel Street. Turn left onto the R804. Drive ahead and turn left onto the R108. Follow the R108 across the River Liffey and keep left on the R108 until you reach Christchurch. Take a right turn onto the R137 and follow the signs for the R137 until you reach the junction with the M50. Take the 2nd exit onto the N81 towards Tallaght and travel towards the junction at Whitestown way and turn left in which the hotel will be situated on the right

Parking: When you arrive at Maldron Hotel Tallaght we have a shared underground carpark with accessible parking available. There is lift and stair access to the hotel from the car park. Parking is complimentary and the barrier will automatically lift upon your departure. 

Taxis: Taxis are available upon request and our team are more than happy to request wheelchair accessible taxis.

There is a slip road located off the N81 for taxi pickup and drop-off directly in front of our main entrance providing step free access to our hotel. 

There is also a taxi rank located 5 minutes away outside the 3rd level of The Square Shopping Centre.

Bus: Being situated in the Centre of Tallaght there are plenty of bus routes available within a short distance from Maldron Hotel Tallaght. These include: 

On Whitestown Way 2 minutes from the hotel entrance the F1 bus travels northbound towards Tallaght at stop 7123 and southbound towards IKEA Ballymun at stop 7122

At the Square Shopping Centre located 5 minutes from the hotel a number of bus routes originate from outside the 3rd level. These include: 

  • At stop 4344 the 56a originates and travels towards Ringsend Road.
  • At stop 4342 the S6 originates and travels towards Blackrock Train Station.
  • At stop 8063 the W2 originates and travels towards Liffey Valley Shopping Centre.
  • At stop 8031 the W4 originates and travels towards Blanchardstown.
  • At stop 8030 the W6 originates and travels towards Maynooth Community College.
  • At stop 7181 the F1 originates and travels towards IKEA Ballymun. 

On the Belgard Square West Road located 5 minutes from the hotel and just opposite The Square Shopping Centre there are also many bus routes available. These include: 

At stop 4348 going northbound the following bus routes are available: 

  • The 27 travelling towards Clare Hall.
  • The 65 travelling towards Poolbeg Street.
  • The 65a travelling towards Tallaght Sq.
  • The 77a travelling towards Ringsend.
  • The 82 travelling towards Sean Moore Road.
  • The F1 travelling towards IKEA Ballymun.
  • The S6 travelling towards Blackrock Train Station.
  • The S8 travelling towards Dun Laoghaire Train Station.
  • The W2 travelling towards Liffey Valley Shopping Centre.
  • The SD3 travelling towards Bohernabreena.
  • The SD4 travelling towards Tibradden.

At stop 4347 going southbound the following bus routes are available. 

  • The 27 travelling towards Jobstown.
  • The 49n travelling towards Kilnamanagh.
  • The 65 travelling towards Blessington/Ballymore.
  • The 65a travelling towards Blessington.
  • The 77a travelling towards Citywest.
  • The 77n travelling towards Citywest.
  • The 82 travelling towards Kiltipper.
  • The F1 travelling towards The Square Tallaght.
  • The S6 travelling towards The Square.
  • The S8 travelling towards Kingswood Avenue.
  • The W2 travelling towards The Square.

Luas: We are situated 10 minutes away from the start and finish of the Luas Red Line at the Tallaght Luas stop located just Opposite 2nd Level of The Square Shopping Centre. From this stop you can travel to the City Centre and the Luas Red Line terminates at Connolly Train Station or The Point. Interchange is available at Belgard Luas Stop for trams travelling to Saggart and at Abbey Street for Green Line services between Broombridge and Brides Glen.

4. Entrance & Reception 

  • Step-Free Entrance: Our main entrance at Tallaght provides step-free access suitable for wheelchair users. The entrance features level access with no raised thresholds, ensuring easy entry for all guests
  • Designated Accessible Parking: Designated accessible parking bays are available in out shared car park which can be accessed from Whitestown Way.
  • Step-Free Route: There is a step-free route with a firm surface from the car park to our underground entrance. Clear signage directs guests from the parking area to the accessible entrance.
  • 24 - Hour Assistance: Guest assistance is available 24 hours a day through our front desk team. Whether you need help with luggage, information about accessible routes, or any other support, our team is always ready to assist.
  • English Braille and audio information: Unfortunately, we do not provide any information in braille or audibly at this moment in time.
  • Tactile Signage: Unfortunately, we do not provide any tactile signage at this moment in time.

5. Lift Access

  • Lifts: Passenger lifts are available between all floors, providing an alternative to stairs throughout the hotel. The lifts accommodate wheelchairs and mobility aids comfortably. Evacuation chair is also available in case of emergency.
  • Stairs: Our staircases feature high-contrast edges, handrails, and tactile paving at the top and bottom to ensure safe navigation for guests with vision impairments.

6. Accessible Public Toilets

Wheelchair Accessible Toilets in Public Areas: We have dedicated wheelchairaccessible toilets designed for wheelchair users and others with visible and non-visible accessibility requirements available in our main public areas on the ground floor.

7. Accessible Bedroom

Wheelchair - accessible bedroom: 

We offer wheelchair accessible bedrooms to accommodate wheelchair users and guests with mobility impairments. These rooms offer: 

  • Bedroom door width of 820mm.
  • Telephone reachable from bed.
  • Light switch reachable from bed.
  • Electrical socket reachable from bed.
  • TV remote reachable from bed.
  • Widest space at the side of the bed at 2000mm.
  • Height of bed from floor to top of mattress at 620mm.
  • Gap under bed.

Fridge in bedroom: We do not currently offer fridges in bedrooms however we will be more than happy to store any medication in one of our fridges upon request.

8. Accessible Bathrooms/En-Suites

Standard bathroom with separate shower unit: There is at least one bathroom for a standard bedroom with a separate shower unit or wet room, instead of a shower over a bath and include the following:

  • En-suite bathroom door with a width of 925mm.
  • Toilet height of 460mm.
  • Grab rails.
  • Alarm cord/button for emergency use

9. Dining & Social Spaces

Step-Free Access to Most Areas: Maldron Hotel Tallaght provides step-free access to all key public areas, including: 

  • Reception and lobby area
  • Restaurant and breakfast area
  • Bar and lounge
  • Meeting rooms
  • Accessible toilets
  • Lift access to all floors

Wheelchair - accessible food and beverage outlet

Our on-site restaurant and bar are wheelchair accessible, featuring: 

  • Step-free entry and exit.
  • Wide doorways with a minimum width of 960mm.
  • Wide aisles allowing comfortable maneuverability for wheelchairs and mobility aids. 

Dietary Requirements

Our restaurant caters for a wide range of dietary requirements, including: 

  • Gluten-free options.
  • Dairy-free and lactose-free options.
  • Vegan and vegetarian options.
  • Nut-free options.
  • Food allergies and intolerances.
  • Religious dietary restrictions

Wheelchair accessible check in desk: We have a lower check in desk available for any of our guests in wheelchairs to check in.

 

10. Safety & Staff Training

  • Disability Awareness Training: All staff members at Maldron Hotel Tallaght receive comprehensive disability awareness and equality training on induction, with regular refresher training for customer-facing team members. Our commitment to inclusive service is reflected in our team's approach to hospitality.
  • Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (PEEP): We have comprehensive Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans in place for guests with disabilities or access requirements. These plans are developed with individual guests to ensure swift and safe evacuation in an emergency. Our staff are trained to implement these plans effectively, and emergency evacuation chair is available on the second floor.
  • Vibrating Pillow Alarms: Vibrating pillow pad alarms are available upon request for deaf and hard of hearing guests. These portable devices alert guests to fire or other emergency scenarios when sleeping by vibrating the pillow when the audible alarm sounds. Please request this equipment when making your reservation or upon check-in.
  • Multilingual Staff: Our team includes multilingual staff members who can provide assistance in multiple languages.

Mobility Equipment and Aid Suppliers: The nearest supplier for mobility equipment is Murrays Medical Equipment located 15 minutes away from Maldron hotel Tallaght with the following information:
