This Accessibility Guide provides practical information about accessibility features at our hotel to support guests with physical, sensory, or other access needs when planning their stay. Sections appear only where relevant to this property.

1. Welcome 

At Maldron Hotel Parnell Square, we are committed to providing a welcoming, comfortable, and inclusive experience for all our guests. We believe everyone should be able to enjoy our hotel with dignity, independence, and ease. We are continually working to improve accessibility across our facilities and services. 

This Accessibility Welcome Guide has been designed to help you understand the access features available throughout our hotel, including our bedrooms, public areas, dining spaces, and guest services. We hope it supports you in planning a stay that meets your individual needs.

3. Getting Here 

There are a number of ways you can get to the Maldron Hotel Parnell Square: 

Car: There is no parking at Maldron Hotel Parnell Square. 

  • There is accessible on street parking 50 meters from the hotels entrance.
  • Please note, this parking is not free and is required to be paid for.
  • The operating hours are usually Monday to Saturday, 7am-7pm.
  • We have discounted rates with Q-Park, a public car-park. Located on Loftus Lane, Parnell Street, approx. 7 minutes from the hotel. Pre-booking is required to avail of our discount up to 25% off – the promotional code for booking via the parking website will be issued to you upon receiving your pre-stay email - https://www.q-park.ie/en-gb/cities/dublin/parnell/ 

Bus: There are multiple bus stops surrounding the hotel which can assist you in getting to any destination of your choice. For assistance in finding the right bus to your desired location, the Dublin Bus website can help you plan your journey or you can ask reception for support. 

The following travel options to Dublin Airport are available: 

  • Aircoach route 700 is a direct bus to Dublin Airport and drops off on O’Connell Street, approx. 5 minute walk from the hotel.
  • Dublin Bus route 16 goes to Dublin Airport from Parnell Square, approx. 1 minute walk from the hotel.
  • Dublin Bus route 41 from Abbey Street/O’Connell Street also goes to the hotel. 

Taxi: Taxis can be ordered at reception or via a taxi apps FreeNow and Uber. 

Train and LUAS: There are two main train stations within walking distance of the hotel: 

  • Connolly Station – 1.5km/1500 metres
  • Heuston Station – 2.4km/2500 meters •
  • The LUAS stops are located on O’Connell Street and Parnell Street.

4. Entrance & Reception 

There are no steps at our entrance to the hotel or to our reception desk. There is an automatic door at the main entrance of the hotel that allows access for guests using wheelchairs or mobility aids.

Guest assistance is available 24 hours a day. Support is available for arrival and departure, accessing facilities, or responding to any accessibility-related queries during your stay. Guests are encouraged to contact Reception at any time should assistance be required

6. Accessible Public Toilets

Wheelchair-Accessible Toilet - A wheelchair-accessible toilet is available in the main public areas. It features step-free access, grab rails, and an emergency assistance alarm to ensure safety and convenience.

7. Accessible Bedroom

We have 6 wheelchair-accessible bedrooms available, providing step-free access and sufficient space to move around comfortably. Both twin and double bed configurations are available across wheelchairaccessible bedrooms.

  • Furniture Rearrangement - To create additional space for comfort or accessibility, furniture in bedrooms can be rearranged on request.
  • Emergency Assistance Alarm - Emergency assistance alarms are installed in our wheelchairaccessible bedrooms and bathrooms, allowing guests to call for help quickly if required.
  • Fridge in Bedrooms – A fridge is available upon request from our reception team, allowing guests to safely store food, drinks, or medication during their stay.

8. Accessible Bathrooms/En-Suites

  • Shower Facilities - A free-standing shower chair is available in the accessible bathrooms to support safe and comfortable bathing.
  • Emergency Assistance Alarm - Emergency assistance alarms are installed in our wheelchairaccessible bedrooms and bathrooms, allowing guests to call for help quickly if required.

9. Dining & Social Spaces

While some areas of the hotel have steps, step-free access is available to all key areas, including the reception, accessible toilet, and our food and beverage outlets. An elevator provide access to different levels, allowing guests using wheelchairs or mobility aids to navigate the hotel with ease. Guests who require guidance on accessing specific areas or assistance during their visit are encouraged to contact Reception before or during their stay.

11. Safety & Staff Training

Maldron Hotel Parnell Square has worked with MobilityMojo to develop detailed accessibility information for our guests. This information is intended to help guests understand our facilities, services, and layout before visiting.

The following facilities are available to support guests with specific access needs:

  • Emergency Alarm with Vibrating Pillow Pad - A vibrating pillow pad alarm is available on request for guests who are deaf or hard of hearing. This device provides a gentle vibration to alert you in the event of a fire or other emergency while sleeping.
  • Wheelchair Availability - Wheelchairs are available on request for guests who need mobility assistance.

Emergency Evacuation Plans

Emergency evacuation plans are in place to support guests with disabilities or access requirements.

Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (PEEPs) can be developed for guests staying in the hotel, where
required.

An evacuation chair is available to assist in the event of an emergency.

Guests with specific evacuation requirements are encouraged to inform Reception on arrival so
appropriate arrangements can be discussed

Local Emergency and Medical Services 

  • The Rotunda Maternity Hospital – 270 metres
  • The Mater Hospital – 850 metres
  • The Mater Private Hospital – 500 metres
  • CHI Temple Street (children’s hospital) – 600 metres 

GP Surgery 

Local GP surgeries are available nearby; our reception team can provide directions and contact details. 

Pharmacy 

Several pharmacies are within walking distance of the hotel. Please ask Reception for the nearest options.

Defibrillator 

A defibrillator is available on-site for emergencies. 

Guests with specific medical or emergency needs are encouraged to inform Reception upon arrival or contact us in advance so we can provide the necessary support.
