Irish National Heritage Park

A visit to the Irish National Heritage Park is like no other you can imagine. Take an incredible journey through 9,000 years of Ireland’s past with ringforts, crannogs and Viking houses and much more. Johnstown Castle and Gardens

Enjoy a guided tour of the restored 19th century castle and unique servants tunnel- the longest domestic servants tunnel in Ireland! Dunbrody Famine Ship & Irish Emigration Experience

Dunbrody Famine Ship is one of the premier tourist attractions in the Sunny Southeast. The experience is centred around an authentic reproduction of the 1840’s emigrant vessel which provides a world-class interpretation of the famine emigrant experience. The experience incorporates a guided tour with costumed performers and themed exhibitions. Dunbrody Famine Ship is located in New Ross which is a 36km drive from Maldron Hotel Wexford.

Kennedy Homestead

The Kennedy Homestead is the birthplace of President John F. Kennedys great grandfather Patrick Kennedy. The homestead includes a unique cultural museum that is dedicated to the Kennedys who went away and the Kennedys who stayed at home. The Kennedy trail includes the Kennedy Homestead, Dunbrody Famine Ship and the JFK Arboretum. Located just outside New Ross just over 40km drive from Maldron Hotel Wexford.

JFK Arboretum

John F. Kennedy Arboretum is dedicated to the memory of the late 35th president of the United States of America. The park consists of 622 acres of beautiful landscaped gardens with over 4,500 types of trees and shrubs. The visitor centre houses exhibitions, guided tours and an audio-visual show as well as a miniature railway (seasonal), pony and trap, café and gift shop. Road access also provides stunning panoramic views from the top of Slieve Coillte (271 meter summit). Both attractions are only a 36km drive to Maldron Hotel Wexford.

Hook Lighthouse

The present structure of Hook Lighthouse is estimated to be 800 years old and is the oldest intact operational lighthouse in the world. Hook Lighthouse offers guided tours all year round and is one of the top attractions along Ireland Ancient East. During the guided tour, you will have the opportunity to climb the 115 steps to the spectacular views from the lighthouse balcony. A walk along the coastline so you can take in the beautiful Wexford coastline is a must. Hook Lighthouse is located 43km from the hotel along the amazing South East Coastal Drive.

Tintern Abbey

The ruins of Tintern Abbey are well worth a visit during your stay at Maldron Hotel Wexford. This 12th century Cistercian abbey was founded by William Marshall and is named after Tintern in Wales. The ruins today include a tower, chapel and cloister as well as stunning wooded walks around the grounds of the abbey. Guided tours are available during peak season and last up to 45 minutes. Tintern Tea Rooms are also open daily. Tintern Abbey is located only a 29km drive from Maldron Hotel Wexford.
