Galway 2020 European Capital of Culture, the largest and most complex cultural event held on the island of Ireland, will start on February 7th with a week of “fiery celebrations” in Co Galway towns and villages. 2020 will have over 1900 events within 154 projects through artists and culture organisations across 30 countries all across Galway city and county. These events will vary from beautiful mountains of Connemara to the rocky shores of Galway bay right out to the famous Aran Islands.
Throughout Galway 2020 you will notice three core themes that are continuously mentioned or integrated into a performance, event, visual display or workshop these are Migration, Landscape and Language.
