In which month does the Galway Arts Festival take place?

This year, The Galway International Arts Festival is taking place from the 17th – 30th of July 2023.

History of The Galway International Arts Festival

The concept of the festival came to fruition by a group of artists who while sitting around a kitchen table one day dreamed of bringing world-class artists to Ireland, while also supporting our own Irish artists showcasing their work on the world stage, creating unique and wonderful experiences for all.

Since this initial kitchen table discussion, the festival has become intrinsic in propelling Galway forward and assuring its rightful place on the map as a key cultural centre for both the arts and for elevating Galway as a must-see tourist destination for international tourists. The mission of Galway International Arts Festival is to be a 21st Century Pilgrimage that delivers a world-class festival experience for the most number of people possible and is an artistic leader in the presentation and origination of work. The festival truly is an unforgettable encounter for all, it unlocks passions in people and inspires new ways of thinking and acting. As it notes on the festival’s website, “The festival is special, worlds, cultures and dreams collide, inspiring passion, creativity and new ways of thinking” and we at Maldron Hotel Sandy Road couldn’t agree more!
