Romantic things to do in Cork

At Blackrock Castle, take a trip to the stars. View the night sky to put that twinkle in their eyes, with a tour of Blackrock Castle planetarium, and watchtower. The castle is a 30-minute riverside walk from Maldron Hotel South Mall. The castle boasts breath-taking views of Cork Harbour and hosts frequent star/moon gazing evenings.

A leisurely stroll through the Crawford Art Gallery. Walk hand in hand and take in the pieces of art that surround you. If this sounds like your idea of romance, why not spend a few hours marvelling at the Canova castings in the Crawford Art Gallery or admiring the work of renowned stained glass artist Harry Clarke in the low-light room.

For the adventurous couple take your date on a night kayak beneath the city’s bridges with Atlantic Sea Kayaking. Throughout the year, night-time tours for two can be arranged, and no prior kayaking experience is required.

Climb St. Anne’s Church’s Shandon Clock Tower and ring its historic bells! It’s a unique and romantic activity – you can take selfies while taking in 360-degree views of Cork city, and while you’re up there, don’t forget to say hello to Goldie, Cork’s most famous fish!
