35 minutes from the city. For many generations, it has been a well-known Cork gem, and with neighbouring beaches such as Fennell’s Bay, Church Bay in Crosshaven, and a direct bus route to Fountainstown Beach, all these surrounding areas feature fabulous restaurants and bars, as well as family sea activities at Funky Town, it is a must-visit location for Families.
40 minutes from the city. It’s not the most well-known beach in the area, but it’s a beautiful spot at the mouth of the harbour just beyond Minane Bridge, it can get very busy with limited parking on a hot weekend but if you are an early riser and enjoy a picturesque, family-friendly beach then this is an excellent choice.
Garretstown or Garrlucas White Strand
50 minutes from the city. The area to go for a long sandy beach that is considered a surfer’s heaven, surrounded by sand dunes. It is situated alongside the R604 Road, near the old Head of Kinsale, and is not far from Ballinspittle. Public parking and restrooms are available, as are lifeguards during the peak summer season. Ramps and steps allow access to the beach.
40 minutes from the city. A popular sandy beach surrounded by two steams located approximately 9 miles south of Midleton. Gyleen, Whitegate, and Aghada are the towns nearest to it. It is located at the beginning of Power Head, surrounded by cliffs, rock pools, and grassland. Parking is available on both sides of the strand.
The Dock Beach Kinsale
45 mins from the city. Take a drive through picturesque Kinsale and you’ll come to The Dock Beach, a magnificent white sand beach ideal for children and beautiful cliff walks accessible from the beach. There is parking available, and if you arrive early, then often you will have this slice of heaven to yourself.
