The Cork Guinness Jazz Festival takes place annually in Cork City and is one of the busiest weekends of the year. Thousands of visitors travel to the city each year during the October Bank Holiday weekend to soak up the ambiance. The first festival took place on Friday, October 27, 1978, and has grown to become an international musical event adored by rock and pop music enthusiasts.
Cork Jazz Festival is Ireland’s largest jazz event, attracting over 40,000 music enthusiasts and up to 1,000 international musicians. For the duration of the weekend from October 27th to October 30th, 2023, live events will take place around the city in over 80 venues, including the Cork Opera House, bars, restaurants, and on-street entertainment. You’ll have the opportunity to experience jazz, blues, and Motown, among other genres. The majority of locations offer free admission during the weekend.
The four-day event is a must for music fans of all ages. The principal performers will be revealed on the websites of Cork Opera House, The Everyman Theatre , and Cyprus Avenue.
