Possibly the most photographed abbey in Ireland Kylemore Abbey is a neo-Gothic Castle and Church. Included in a visit is a viewing of the Abbey’s exhibition rooms. A restored Gothic church, lake walk, and 6 acre walled garden featuring a formal flower and kitchen garden and a woodland walk. The abbey is open daily year round, while the garden is open daily Easter to October.
Lough Corrib
27 miles long and has a width of up to 7 miles. The lake provides excellent fishing for salmon, trout, perch, pike and eels. Cruises can be taken on the lake.
Cliffs of Moher
The Cliffs of Moher stand over 200m above the Atlantic some of the highest cliffs in Europe. A major seabird colony, the cliffs are home to over 20 species of birds. You can see, from a distance, thousands of Puffins, Guillemots and others filling the sky with noise and color. You may also meet some friendly dolphins.
Galway Races
Irelands premiere racing festival takes place over seven days each year at the end of July on the week leading up to the August Bank Holiday. Races also take place for three days at the end of August and for two days again on the October Bank Holiday weekend.
